THESE 5 JOBS Will Be REPLACED By AI in 2023
Artificial Intelligence folks – it’s officially here, and right now is the inflection point.
According to a study by Gartner, by 2023, Artificial Intelligence will have replaced 5 million jobs worldwide. Just as the internet and the personal computer that came in previous generations.
AI is going to change just about everything, including the way we work.
And more importantly, it will transform the jobs that will be left available for us to do.
In this article, we're going to explore the top 5 jobs that are most at risk of being replaced by AI.
Whether you're a working professional or a student just starting out, this information is absolutely important for staying ahead of the curve in the ever-changing job market.
Job #1: Customer Service Reps
Customer service reps are the first line of defense when it comes to customer satisfaction. If a customer has a problem, they're the ones who have to solve it.
One example is a Chatbots.
Chatbots are AI-powered tools that can handle customer inquiries and provide support via text-based chat. They can be programmed to answer common questions, provide product information, and even handle simple transactions like refunds or cancellations. Chatbots can work around the clock, providing 24/7 support to customers.
But it can get more sophisticated than that!
Voice assistants like Amazon's Alexa or Apple's Siri, can be used to handle customer inquiries and support. Customers can use their voice to ask questions, get product information, or even order products. Voice assistants can also be integrated with chatbots to provide a seamless customer experience.
This technology has already replaced a number of jobs in this field, and it’s only going to continue to do so. There will still be a need for humans for the foreseeable future because inevitably there are unique circumstances; there will be nuances to a customer’s problem that AI won’t be able to diagnose effectively and requires more creativity.
Job #2: Copywriters
These are professionals who create written content for advertising or marketing purposes. This can include website copy, blog posts, social media content, email marketing campaigns, product descriptions, and more.
The goal of a copywriter is to persuade the reader to take a particular action, such as making a purchase or signing up for a service.
AI will soon be replacing these services!
It will be more efficient and write much faster with more consistency in tone. A copywriter may take several hours to complete a single piece of content, while an AI can write 1000+ word blogs in a matter of minutes. The amount of well-written content that can be produced will multiply.
Now, AI is still somewhat limited, so while it can already replace a team of copywriters, there is still a need for someone to proof read and make edits because it can (and will) make mistakes.
A good example of it is this very article you’re reading!
I had an interesting AI writing software that I used to quickly build out content for a script. It gave me some really good content to start with, but I still had to make edits and additions, like this one of me telling about the fact that I used AI software.
So the future of this job will be dependent on how well someone can utilize AI to create copy.
Job #3: Legal Assistants
This type of job requires a lot of manual work of creating and reviewing legal contracts, which is something AI can do extraordinarily well.
One of the most time-consuming tasks for legal assistants is document review and analysis. AI-powered tools can scan and analyze large volumes of legal documents, contracts, and agreements, making it easier for attorneys to identify key information and make decisions.
These tools use natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning algorithms to identify patterns and extract data. Legal assistants are also responsible for managing contracts and ensuring compliance. AI-powered tools can automate many of these tasks, including contract drafting, review, and analysis.
These tools can also flag potential issues and help attorneys negotiate better terms. There’s also legal research and due diligence that legal assistants are going to be tasked with, which also involves everything I’ve mentioned above.
Job #4: TELEMARKETERS
Think of the robo calls we already get today, except the robo calls of the future will be far more sophisticated.
AI can be used to analyze customer data and predict their needs and preferences, which can help telemarketers personalize their interactions with customers.
They can automate appointment scheduling, follow-up calls, and other repetitive tasks
Meaning, far less need for telemarketers.
Job #5: VIDEO CONTENT CREATORS
This is any role where video needs to be created for a company. Can be promotional videos, explainer videos, many other types.
But there is software out there today that is able to pull a written script written by AI (which is what mostly replaced the copywriter), and can create a video with text, mixed with imagery and video relevant to exactly what the text is saying.
Usually does this with a library of stock footage of some sort. And it can combine it with background music that fits the theme of the video.
It can do this in minutes!
Crazier yet, there are some AI platforms out there that can provide a human avatar to speak a script into existence.
In many languages, tones, and accents.
There’s no need to record anyone.
No need to record their voice.
If you need to correct what they say, you can do that in the click of a button without needing to get someone to re-record that piece.
Synthesia is one such platform that uses AI to create videos from plain text in multiple languages, saving up to 80% of time and budget.
WHAT THIS ALL MEANS FOR YOU
So while AI is displacing a lot of these roles, humans are still needed to supervise the output of AI. The better you can be at using AI for these functions, the farther ahead you’ll be in the job market.
You really need to think not so much in terms of how AI will replace a skill, but rather, how AI can greatly augment a skill or process.
As these AI tools get developed, find the ones that are interesting to you or relevant to your job, and learn them!
When you develop your expertise in using such a tool (just like someone would be adept at using Google search or using Microsoft Excel), you’ll stay competitive in the job market with what is undoubtedly going to be a must-have skill!
